Moakley, O'Neill, and the Visconti-Sforza Popess

For those of you who have more than a passing interest in Tarot history, you should find this thread enlightening.

And particularly this posting.

New information is provided which tends to cinch (or maybe cincture) the Gertrude Moakley identification of the Visconti-Sforza Popess as the Visconti cousin, and popess-heretic, Maifreda da Pirovano. Robert V. O'Neill had questioned this theory, and this Tarotica thread developed as a critique of his alleged debunking of Moakley's ideas.
